Spring and Fall Community Yard Sales

Scheduled annually on the Saturday in March closest to the spring equinox and on the second Saturday in October, our Community Yard Sales are held from 8:00 am to noon in the Judicial Center parking lot on the corner of Dozier Street and Highway 17 (Church Street) just behind the Georgetown Library. Anyone and everyone is invited to come sell and support library programming.

Summer Farmers Market Book Sales

Through the summer months, the Friends hold a Book Sale at the community Farmers Market sponsored by the City.  The Market is held every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on the field at the intersection of Front Street and Fraser Street/Route 17, the site of the old City Hall complex.

Books are sold at $1.00 for all hardbacks and 50¢ for all paperbacks. Different books and different topics are on sale each week with a selection of fiction and children’s books on sale every week.

Book sales at the Farmers Market will begin on Saturday, June 1st, and continue through Saturday, September 28th.

Yuletide Home Tour

To celebrate the December holidays in Georgetown, the Friends sponsor the annual Yuletide Home Tour of beautiful Georgetown homes, houses of worship, and museums on the second Saturday in December.
Between ten and twelve residences in and around Georgetown’s Historic District, decorated in holiday finery, are opened for visiting. In addition, two venerable houses of worship open their doors to tour participants.  And now included are two of the several excellent museums in downtown Georgetown. It’s an entertaining day for a good cause: all proceeds go to support the children and youth reading programs at the Library.
Ticket reservations may be made online or at any of the County Library branches: the Georgetown Library, 405 Cleland Street; the Andrews Library, 105 N Morgan Street; the Carvers Bay Library, 13048 Choppee Road; the Southern Georgetown Library, 4187 Powell Road; and the Waccamaw Library, 41 St. Paul Place. With the construction at the Library, participants are to go to Prince George Winyah Anglican Church at 300 Broad Street to pick up tickets and tour information on the day of the Tour any time after 10:00 am.
